Peli Peli, Houston’s only South African restaurant, has been voted the 2010 Click2Houston’s Best Winner for Best Romantic Restaurant.
Quickly becoming a hotspot eatery in the Northwest Houston area due to its unique menu and extraordinary interior design, Peli Peli has received numerous awards including Best Romantic Bar (Citysearch 2009) and Best Atmosphere (Houston Press Readers’ Choice 2009). Chef Paul Friedman, the executive chef and owner of Peli Peli, has created a menu that focuses primarily on steak, chicken and seafood cuisine but with a twist by using different spices, marinades and seasonings often used in South African and Portuguese cooking. By combining exceptional cuisine with the “Acacia Tree” that has become its centerpiece, Peli Peli has become a popular destination for diners looking for “something different”.
“It is amazing how many first dates and proposals we get now,” says Chef Paul Friedman. “I am truly honored that so many people are choosing our restaurant for their most special moments.”
Peli Peli is an upscale casual restaurant located at the Vintage Park shopping center in North Houston (Hwy 249 & Louetta, 281-257-9500). Guests are invited to dine under Peli Peli’s 30-foot tall, one-of-a-kind Acacia Tree and illuminated sky while enjoying live jazz, a Sunday brunch, full bar & lounge, an intimate private dining room and an outdoor patio facing the Piazza.
