I have never had Southern African foods until I know of Peli Peli --so awesome :) However, why northside of Houston, come to the south side too ...I think you'll be welcomed well in Pearland :)

As a big fan of South Africa I was so excited to be dining at Peli Peli. The evening started out badly; the young hotesses said we did not have a reservation that I had made the day before. An older woman came out and confirmed there was no resevation. She was unsmiling, unfriendly, and very rude. When I asked did this mean we could not have dinner she snapped at me and said "I didn't say that". Well no one had said anything other than we don't have your reservation. We were finally seated. This same woman was extrelemy rude and demeaning to an employee later on the floor adjacent to our table. After this unpleasant beginning things went uphill. Our server was efficient and pleasant the the cocktails were absolutely fantastic. Everything we ate was superior. I had a filet offered by the server; it was not on the menu. We tasted the couscous, the spinach, and the cole slaw; all top notch. I will return for the food and maybe this time the chef will be there (he was on vacation).

My absolute favorite restaraunt in Houston!!! I have visited Peli Peli many times and have never been disappointed. Chef Paul is the most personable owner! I could not be more impressed. The food is incredible. The interior design alone is a sight to see. I will encourage many to enjoy this amazing dining experience!

Peli Peli is no ordinary restaurant; it’s a very elegant yet laid back atmosphere!! The food, hospitality & décor are FABULOUS!! Chef Paul was AMAZING!! What chef comes out to mingle with the customers & to check on their service? Peli Peli has to be one of the best if not the best restaurant in town. I’m just blown away on how delicious the food is from the appetizer to the entrée to the dessert. INCREDIABLE!! Normally, I wouldn’t post reviews about restaurants, etc…. But this restaurant was worth the review!! Thanks to all the Peli Peli Crew for making our lunch on Friday so wonderful!!

Had lunch with my daughter who raved about the place. The raves were deserved. A restaurant that believes it is special, and works to prove it. No cookie cutter formula here. I can't figure out the tribes of Israel tableaus, but I think it, again, makes the place unique. Food was fine, prices good considering the environment, service excellent. 4oz prime rib lunch special, that's the best meat dish I have had since I visited Ruth's Chris.

We had a large private event for 35 people. the experience was positiviely wonderful and extremely successful. The food, the restaurant and the staff were outstanding. I have received rave reviews from our guests about the restaurant, the food and the staff. They were extremely impressed that the owner took the time to come out and greet us, take a photo and share the inspirational story of PeliPeli and the hidden treasures and decor. My guests have indicated that they will definitely spread the word to their friends. Thank you again and I look forward to having future dinners at PeliPeli.

Absolutely fabulous. Peli Peli is the best find. Food and service top notch all at a very reasonable price. The food was cooked perfectly, was very fresh and colorful. I only had one problem... I ran out of the mango coleslaw. It's to die for. Then another problem... I tasted the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was without a doubt the best dessert to ever cross my lips. I fear a total addiction. It's that good. Peli Peli is great for office one hour lunches even with a short drive. It's nice they recognize this and accommodate those with tight schedules. Thanks Peli Peli! Can't wait to return.

I really want to thank first and foremost Chef Paul . For making my Valentine Day a very special time for and my husband (Pete)and me. Our waiter Alfredo was very attentive and knowledgeable about any questions we had to ask. The foods was one of my favorites. I had the bacon wrapped chicken and I was very delighted. My Ribeye steak was delicious and cooked to my preference. And finally the sides were different and unique. Especially the carrot bredie. Chef Paul,Thank you we loved it, and we will be definitely being recommending your restaurant to all of our friends. Dankie!!!!!!!!!!!!

Double Gold Star! From the appetizer all the way thru with the staff, Peli Peli is on my list of "gotta go back" restaurants. I'm already telling everyone about how great the food is and that they have to check it out (and to not let the "South African type food scare them). Incredible! The S. Africa sausage should be sold for take out along with the couscous. The rotisserie chicken was fantastic (actually liked it better without the sauce - it was so moist and tasty); the lamb was delicious as well. Can't wait to come back and try your other options!!! Kudos to Chef Paul and ALL of his staff at the restaurant! We appreciated you making our Valentine's Dinner one to remember. G and J/M&M

The chef and owner comes out and talks to everyone and they all are available for anything that you need and making sure all is ok. Been there with 8 people and other times 4 and then today we tried lunch - what a wonderful lunch for the price.......same great service. Every time - every one loved their food - not one complaint. http://www.b4-u-eat.com/houston/restaurants/reviews/rsv5152.asp We absolutlely love the food and service here. The people that do not like it must be overly picky and always complain wherever they go. Their carrot ginger soup and gumbo are to die for. Their rib eye, chicken, sosaties, ribs vegetables, especially mango cole slaw are the best. The desserts are fabulous and I have had them all. The atmosphere is so lovely, like no other restaurant. The story behind the restaurant is wonderful. Make sure you tell them you are there for the first time to hear it. The chef comes out to visit with everyone and makes you feel at home. Jerry L. Hilbert My wife and I have had the chance to dine at your fine establishment on a couple of occasions...First and foremost, I am not a food critic....I just love good food. Your resturant is a unique establishment, with a wonderful menu. But any menu can look good...it is the way that the food tastes that makes it worth the vi...sit. The exotic flavors that are presented to the diner is an expericence that every Houstonian should experience. Incredible food, incredible atomosphere, excellent waitstaff and Chef Paul visting our table and explaining the design of the resturant made for a wonderful dining experience.
